Brian Devoil (Company Secretary)
Brian grew up in East London, but moved to Norfolk at a young age. He graduated from Reading University with a BSc in Chemistry & Mathematics in 1975. He remained in Reading pursuing his interests in music, including managing and touring with a progressive rock band called “Twelfth Night”. At 33 Brian moved to Ealing to become an accountant. He first encountered Estmanco when a friend and former Estmanco director and resident, invited him to take a look at Estmanco books. Soon afterwards Brian took on the role of Accountant. He was appointed Company Secretary in 1992, and has since organised all relevant meetings, taken care of the finances and the affairs of the estate in general. During his time with Estmanco Brian has worked with over 20 different directors managing a number of difficult projects most notable the uPVC works from 2000-05, and more recently the Cavity Wall Insulation, bothof which have brought significant benefits to the estate. Brian has worked with several firms of surveyors specialising in both Residential and Commercial Property Management. These include Charted Surveyors Jackson Stops & Staff, where he became Head of Residential Property management and Chartered Surveyors Keningtons where he looked after the service charge accounts for approx. 70 properties. Although he ‘retired’ in 2011, he has recently returned to working part-time for Tuckerman Chartered Surveyors, as a service charge consultant. Brian is married with two children and lives in Buckinghamshire within 15 minutes drive of the estate.
Mick Foote (Director)
Born in Brent however, lived and educated in Greenford and Hanwell, attending local primary and high schools. Mick has close family ties to the area and lives 10 minutes away in Hanwell. Mick retired from the police in 2014 having worked in a number of challenging London boroughs and specialist units. As a senior police leader Mick’s role involved having responsibility for staff welfare, budgets, project management, integrity and professionalism with a good level of understanding for legislation and legal processes. Mick has some building experience ensuring work is completed professionally, on time and provides value for money. Mick became a leaseholder on the estate for Pump Close in January 2015 and you will occasionally see him on the estate. Mick is an accredited member of the National Landlords Association. Mick is also a Co-opted Governor for a local primary school where he is the Chair for the Building, Site and Health & Safety Committee. Mick is on the board of trustees for a charity called hundredfamilies.org supporting bereaved families who have lost loved one’s through mental health homicide. Mick is very approachable and easily contactable via email or mobile phone.
James Fapohunda (Director)
James moved onto the estate in 1999 and has been a director for 2 years.
Occupation: Public servant for 25 years.
Education: English degree (OAU University, Nigeria) and Law degree (College of Law, London).
Hobbies: Football, Music, Chess.
Simon grew up in Lichfield (Midlands) but spent most of his adult life in Plymouth, graduating in 1999, from Plymouth University with a BSc in Ecology. He then worked as a conservation officer at The Barn Owl trust, founded and managed a gardening and forestry business, until he decided to work full time for a pharmaceutical company. He moved to London in 2012 where he currently works as a territory sales manager. Simon moved onto the estate in March 2017 where he lives with his partner. He has experience in procurement, project management, and budgeting, as well as being skilled in DIY, and has a good understanding of maintenance and repair work. Simon has particular interest in activities that minimise waste, reduce environmental impact, preserve the local ecosystem, and promote clean and enjoyable spaces for all those living in the estate. He has a long list of personal interests including surfing, playing ukulele, cooking, and most recently, kayaking. He also enjoys languages: has a good grasp of French and speaks Portuguese. Simon is very approachable and enjoys meeting his neighbours. If you haven’t met him yet feel free to contact him, or just wave when you spot him kayaking on the canal.
Robert Hassam (Caretaker)
Robert Hassam is our contracted estate caretaker and handyman. Robert’s duties include maintaining the gardens, managing the refuse collection, cleaning and work specifically identified by the directors. Robert is originally from Zimbabwe and prior to settling in the UK he was trained primarily as a plumber and went onto to complete courses in carpentry and painting and decorating. Robert has been working on our estate since 2005 and lives within a short distance of the estate.
